말펠로의 다이빙 조건이 가장 좋은 구간은 4월~9월로 보고되며, 5월은 그 초반이다. 반대로 1월~2월은 조류가 가장 강하고 해면이 거칠며 수온이 약 20℃까지 떨어져 조건이 가장 어렵다. 말펠로는 수백 마리 규모의 해머헤드 무리로 알려져 있고 접근은 리브어보드 전용이다.
