PUBLIC API · VERSION 17

Shared by web and mobile:
the Maptlantis data contract

A read-only API, so that place search, the map, detail pages and future iOS and Android apps all use the same categories, prices, seasons and marine life data.

Categories defined once

The web and the API share the same freediving, scuba diving, snorkeling, marine life and liveaboard categories.

Ready for mobile

Pagination, stable IDs, canonical detail paths and an API version header let apps cache the data and deep-link into it.

Profile tier included

Responses carry the complete, verified or directory tier with the sources, so unchecked data is never handled as if it were finished.

Endpoints

Public read API

GET
/api/v1/places

Search, filters and pagination

Combine country, activity, marine life, encounter type, month, published price, place type and profile tier.

GET
/api/v1/places/{country}/{region}/{slug}

Operator and place detail

Returns featured programs, prices, seasons, contacts, marine life programs, sources and profile quality.

GET
/api/v1/map

Core wire data for mobile maps

Coordinates, filters and card data packed into a string pool and tuples. Field indexes follow the OpenAPI document.

GET
/api/v1/map/search

Search index, loaded on demand

Programs, prices, contacts and multilingual keywords, loaded lazily only when the user searches.

GET
/api/v1/map/full

Legacy client route

A deprecated route that returns the full JSON object. New integrations should use the core and search routes.

GET
/api/v1/spots

Spots by month and marine life season

Returns, with coordinates, only the markers whose published season includes the chosen month and that run a program for that animal.

GET
/api/v1/tours

Public tour dates and open spots

Dates from source-checked hosts that overlap the requested period, narrowed by date, region and activity, with live open spots based on confirmed guests.

GET
/api/v1/coverage

Worldwide coverage

Whether each of the 249 ISO 3166-1 entries is listed, being updated, on hold for safety or excluded.

Before you use the data

Published prices, seasons, opening hours and wildlife sightings can change. Apps and outside services should show the source URL, check date and profile quality with the data, and check the operator’s own official page again before booking. This API does not copy Google review text or ratings.
