PADI는 라스타르티트의 시즌이 3월에 시작해 12월에 끝나며 물이 따뜻하고 생물이 가장 많은 7월~9월이 최적이라고 명시한다. 8월은 그 한가운데다. 1990년부터 보호된 메데스 제도 국립해양공원에서는 대형 그루퍼·바라쿠다 무리·독수리가오리·붉은 산호를 볼 수 있으며 해안에서 1마일도 떨어지지 않아 항해가 짧다.
